Department of Data Science Faculty of Data Science was newly established in April 2024.
The Open Campus, which will be held on October 1 (Sun), will introduce Faculty of Data Science.

“What is Data Science?” Introducing what you can learn at Shimonoseki City University Faculty of Data Science. At the same time, I would like to talk about the outline of the entrance examination (recruited staff, points of common tests, etc.).

One of the characteristics of Faculty of Data Science University is "Business Data Science" in specialized application fields. Lectures will be given on business data science in an easy-to-understand manner using SNS as an example. ※It is the same as the open campus in August.

Another pillar of Faculty of Data Science's distinctive feature is "Health Data Science" in specialized applications. Based on the experience of Dr. Nakagami, who is conducting joint research with medical schools at other universities, lectures will be given on the relationship between data analysis and healthcare. ※It is the same as the open campus in August.

In order to analyze and utilize data, basic knowledge of information and mathematics is required. At Faculty of Data Science, you will acquire a wide range of information and programming knowledge in the first or second years. We will give a lecture on "Information" in Faculty of Data Science.

Entrance examination preparation briefing session (Essay) (Mr. Kenyuki Yabuchi)

School selection type selection (recommendation entrance examination) and individual scholastic ability tests for the first semester of general selection are " essays (understanding charts)".
I will explain the creation points using the previous essay (understanding diagrams) in Faculty of Economics as an example. -
