We conduct research on the whaling industry, whale culture, fisheries history, etc. from "Whale Town Shimonoseki" through primary materials and interviews with related parties, and how to link "Whale" to the regional development of Shimonoseki. The theme is. In addition, we are currently working on industry-academia demonstration projects that make effective use of unused whale sites (residues) and lead to new commercialization. In addition, we are engaged in project activities to spread whale food to younger generations, and activities to spread the history and culture of whaling. We are also working on research and research on the history of fisheries in Shimonoseki after the war, using historical materials held by our university.
