#HygienePrevention of influenza
Influenza is characterized by strong general symptoms such as sudden high fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain, and symptoms such as sore throat, nasal discharge, and cough are also seen. It is also characterized by bronchitis, pneumonia, etc., which can be severe.
Influenza varies depending on the year, but starts from November to December every year, and the number of patients increases between January and March of the following year. Prepare for infection by focusing on the following points.
Preventing the flu
- Get vaccinations (vaccination) before the flu season.
- Be sure to gargle and wash your hands with soap when returning home or before eating.
- Take a well-balanced diet and plenty of rest to recover from fatigue as soon as possible.
- Viruses are easy to breed when the humidity is low, so keep the indoor humidity at 50 to 60%.
- Avoid crowds and going out to downtown areas, and wear a mask when you go out.
※It takes about two weeks from the time of vaccination to the effect appears, and the effect is said to last for about five months.
※Gragling and hand washing are effective not only for influenza.
※The disinfectant is sterilized when vaporizing, so rub it into your hands firmly and let it dry naturally. (If you wipe your hand with a handkerchief or towel, you will not get enough effect.)
※The disinfectant solution is installed in each building in the university, so please use it.
If you have the flu
- Replenish water (tea, juice, soup, etc.) well.
- Stay calm and get enough rest. Visit a medical institution as soon as possible and take a break from school and workplace.
- Wear a mask and refrain from going out so that you do not pass on to people around you.
- Use the medicine correctly according to the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. If you use the medicine to feel something abnormal, consult your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible.
Cough etiquette
- When coughing or sneezing, hold your mouth and nose with a handkerchief, tissue, etc., and turn your face away from others for at least 1m.
- If you have a cough, wear a mask so that you do not pass on to others. Also, encourage people who are coughing to wear a mask.
Others
- If cold-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, etc.) persist for a long time, consult a medical institution as soon as possible.
- If you are a student diagnosed with influenza, be sure to contact the Student Affairs Group by phone.
