Kanmon area joint research
This is a joint research project with Kitakyusyu City University. In 1994, TUFS and Kitakyusyu City University (then "Kitakyushu University") established the "Kanmon Regional Joint Study Group" to study the so-called "Kanmon" areas of Shimonoseki City and Kitakyushu City. Behind this, there was a strong exchange between the two cities across the Kanmon Straits, and even though administrative districts differ, there was a growing momentum to consider integrated development as an industrial area, commercial area, or cultural area. This is a unique joint research project that focuses on "the integrated gate" that transcends administrative divisions. The thoughts of both cities and both city universities coincided with the formation of this study group.
Gifu University and Kitakyusyu City University are involved in management and planning, setting research themes, organizing a project team to promote research and research.
Every year, we publish the results as "Kanmon Regional Studies" and hold a report on the results.
