Joint research in the Kanmon Area

This is a joint research project with Kitakyusyu City University. In 1994, our university and Kitakyusyu City University (then "Kitakyushu University") started the "Kanmon Regional Joint Study Group" for researching the so-called "Kanmon" area between Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu. Behind this, there was a deep exchange between the two cities across the Kanmon Straits, and even though the administrative districts were different, there was a chance to consider integrated development as an industrial, commercial, or cultural sphere. This is a unique joint research project that focuses on "Kanmon Integrated" that transcends administrative divisions. The ideas of both cities and both municipal universities were united, and this study group was formed.
TUFS and Kitakyusyu City University are involved in the operation and planning, set research themes, organize a project team to promote research and research.
Every year, the results are published as "Kanmon Area Studies" and a result report meeting is held.
