Increasing IELTS scores is an essential requirement for students who wish to study abroad in English-speaking countries. This year, 10 online classes aimed at acquiring IELTS 5.0 were held one set each in the spring and fall semesters.

Let's learn about the world while staying in Japan!
Shimonoseki City University students and local residents have lived in various countries with the aim of making them aware of what is happening around the world, how they live, historical matters, etc. It is a plan to have people talk.
1st: Listening to New Zealand in English
Paul Collettt, a professor at Shimonoseki City University from New Zealand, spoke in English about the history, culture, people's lives, and current state of New Zealand.
2nd: The wind of Africa ☆Talk & Mini Live ~ Shiny of Life from Kenya ~ Chiaki Hayakawa and Masaya Onishi's Pole Pole Charaban 2022
We welcomed Chiaki Hayakawa, who is active in Kiberaslam (Kenya), and talked about the children and their families studying at a school built in a slum town in Kenya, and the people who support them live with Africa. In addition, Masaya Onishi, who has trained in drums in Africa and has been active as a professional musician, was also welcomed and touched on African music through guitar and song sessions by Chiaki and Masaya.
Let's learn the essence of Japanese culture!
This project aims to encourage all students of our university, including international students, to experience Japanese culture with the aim of raising and understanding interest in Japanese culture.
1st: A mini-burring trip around Rakugo artist Takechiyo Katsura and the castle town Chofufu
We welcomed Rakugo artist Takechiyo Katsura and strolled together in the castle town of Chofu, where the festival is held for the first time in three years. We tasted the scenery along the Dankut River and visited Meimiya Shrine, Mohri House, Gong Yamadera, and Shimonoseki City History Museum. At Koyamadera, I also enjoyed rakugo by Rakugo artist Takechiyo Katsura.
2nd: Let's wear kimonos and experience Nihon Buyo!
We wore yukata and other kimonos, learned manners during kimono, and experienced Nihon Buyo. With the support of the Rotary Club of Shimo-Kansai, we provided Japanese clothing from the Chikage store and others. Under the guidance of Dr. Hidekazu Hanayagi, Dr. Yoshihiro Hanayagi, Dr. Chika Mai Hanayagi, and danced "Hanagasa Ondo".
Study Abroad Experience Presentation
This is a plan to have students who have completed their study abroad experience present their experiences with the aim of having them think about their study abroad experience by listening to stories from those who have studied abroad.
Once in the spring semester and twice in the fall semester, students who returned home after studying abroad gave presentations on their experiences. During the spring semester, students who studied abroad in Busan University of Foreign Studies (Korea) and those who studied in Dong-eui University Korea and Griffith University (Australia) in the fall semester gave presentations.
The Path of Global Career
With the aim of providing students with the opportunity to think specifically about international sensations and job hunting, what they have learned through international experiences while attending school, how that experience is useful in society, and working adults It is a plan to give a lecture on what they want to convey to juniors.
