Overseas experience in class subjects

International Internship

By attending pre-training, submitting reports, and participating in briefing sessions, you will be certified as a unit (2 credits) in the fall semester. The internship period is summer vacation.

Qingdao (China) 1-2 weeks, Busan Metropolitan City (South Korea) 1 week (more than 5 days), Singapore 5 days, Taipei 5 days

Private study abroad

You can study abroad at overseas universities and language schools individually. There are various options for studying abroad, such as short-term study abroad at our partner universities, affiliated language schools, and language schools attached to other universities and universities.
In the past, some students took vacations in Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea, and took a long-term private study abroad program.
At International Exchange Center, we also help you introduce private-funded study destinations.

Credit Certification Private Study Abroad

For the purpose of credit-compatibility certification to OIST's class subjects, taking a leave of absence from OIST and studying at partner schools, etc., is called "Certificate of credit-certified private expenses study abroad."
Students wishing to study abroad at a credit-certified private expense must fill out the application form for approval and submit it to International Exchange Center with the required documents. Before you start studying abroad, you will be approved that the destination you wish to study abroad is an educational institution suitable for credit certification, and that it is the period required for credit certification.
If you have been approved as a study abroad suitable for "Certification of Private Funds" before starting your study abroad, you will be able to receive credit certification at OIST by submitting an application form and a set of documents to prove the credits earned at the destination after returning to Japan by the deadline set to Educational Affairs Divisiton and completing the application procedure.


Working holiday

Based on agreements between the two countries and regions, each of them will provide a certain period of time in their respective countries and regions with the opportunity to understand the culture and general lifestyle of their own country and region. This is a system that mutually recognizes activities to spend holidays and employment to compensate for the expenses of stay during that period.

Overseas Volunteers

Overseas volunteers contribute to economic and social development by respecting each other's values, lifestyles, and cultures, working on issues facing the country, such as poverty, environmental and educational issues, while interacting directly and interacting with each other.
Overseas volunteers are recruited by various organizations and companies. Please come to International Exchange Center for consultation before applying for participation.


Others

Shimonoseki City and non-profit organizations outside the university may recruit overseas dispatchers for international exchange. For example, Shimonoseki Lions Club, Shimonoseki Rotary Club, Shimonoseki Youth Chamber, etc. hold mutual exchanges every year in China, Korea, and Taiwan.
