On Thursday, January 25, 2024, the Canadian Ambassador to Japan Ian Mackay gave a lecture at Lecture Block B 303, Shimonoseki City University. This lecture was hosted by the Rotary Club of Shimonoseki, and co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Shimonoseki and TUFS.

　Ian Mackay, Ambassador of Canada to Japan Ian Mackay, was studying at the former Shimonoseki Daiichi High School (Shimonoseki Secondary School) under a study abroad program supported by the International Rotary. At the lecture, he spoke about his memories of those days with slides, and talked a lot about the events since he was assigned to Japan as an ambassador, the wide range of connections between Japan and Canada, and its importance.
　During the question-and-answer session with the Ambassador, the students and citizens of other universities were very carefully answered.

　 The lecture was attended by many visitors from inside and outside the university, and the event was very successful.
