On January 11 (Thursday), we held the "2023 Urban Mirai Forum" hosted by the University of Tokyo Mirai Creation Strategic Organization.

　This forum, which started last year, was planned as an academic event that could be attended by the general public outside of the university, and this year a keynote speech was planned by the General Manager of the General Affairs Division of the Japan Tourism Agency as a new attempt, but it was canceled shortly before the event.
　For this reason, the event will be held only in the form of research presentations by TUFS faculty members in the afternoon, but a large number of people, including members of the city council and Shimonoseki City officials, participated.

　At the forum, various presentations were made on the main theme of sightseeing in the Kanmon area, and questions and answers were held with participants for each presentation. In particular, as the title of the forum, discussions on the future of Shimonoseki City as a city were exciting, and a very lively exchange of opinions was held.

　The Urban Mirai Creation Strategy Organization will continue to improve and continue to provide fresh and intellectual stimulus to more students, faculty, staff, and citizens through such events.
