On October 6, 2025, Shimonoseki City University signed an Inter-university Exchange Agreement (MoU) with Škoda Auto University located in the city of Muradara Boleslav, Czech Republic. This agreement, which will be the 22nd international partner school for OIST, has great significance as the beginning of a new collaboration between education and industry.

The University of Skoda Auto was founded in 2000 by the leading European automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto, and is known as the only company founding university in the Czech Republic. We are developing practical education in fields such as business administration, economics, informatics, and international relations, and are focusing on human resource development through industry-academia collaboration.

Under this agreement, both universities plan to promote joint research and student-faculties in fields such as the automotive industry, management, economy, and data science. It is also expected to create opportunities for students to gain practical experience at international industrial sites through internships.

The signing ceremony was held in a warm atmosphere that symbolizes the strong trust of both universities and prospects for the future. In order to contribute to the international development of education and research, we will continue to expand cooperation in practical and highly specialized fields.
