— Visit to Muhammadia Malang University, Indonesia —
On November 5, 2025 (Wednesday), the delegation of Shimonoseki City University officially visited Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in Indonesia.

During this visit, the signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Agreement on Academic Exchange between the two universities was held and signed by Shimonoseki City University and President HAN Changwan . At the meeting, participants exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in education and research, and confirmed specific initiatives aimed at accepting students from Indonesia and promoting joint research.

In addition, the opening ceremony of the Japan Academic Center (Shimonoseki City University) was held on the same day as a new base for international education, research and cultural exchange between the two universities. The Center was established for the purpose of promoting Japanese language education, introduction of Japanese culture, and regional and international joint research, and is expected to become a symbol of collaboration between Shimonoseki City University and Muhammadia and Malang University.

This visit was a major step forward for Shimonoseki City University to expand its academic network with Indonesia, and was an important milestone for deepening education, research, and cultural exchange in the Asian region.
