[Summary of Report]
To date, Shimonoseki City University has been offering foreign language courses for the general public. However, there are questions about the timing and level of the course, whether the content of the education really meets the needs of the students, and whether the learning results can be obtained by taking the course.
In this study, we mainly relied on the city bulletin "Kagayaki" and investigated how many foreign language education services, including courses, were provided in the Shimonoseki area over the past few years. In addition, a questionnaire was created for citizens' foreign language learners with the aim of understanding the situation and trends regarding foreign language learning (English, Chinese, Korean) of the general public and clarifying the problems. Was implemented. Based on the results of this questionnaire survey, this report points out the characteristics of foreign language learners (English, Chinese, and Korean) in the Shimonoseki area. And from the viewpoint of the instructor in charge, we will consider the problem of what points should be paid attention to and improved in order to start citizen lectures that meet the needs of citizens in the future.
