The current state of Japanese food is said to be "rich food and saturation". While various imported agricultural and marine products are flowing in from overseas, the domestic self-sufficiency rate is declining. While the rate of externalization of food increases and fast food consumption increases, the rate of domestic food at home decreases, and the maintenance and continuation of healthy Japanese-style diets is jeopardized. Under these circumstances, the government has enacted the Basic Law on Shokuiku and is working to revive the healthy eating habits of Japanese people, but the results are not visible early, but are issues that need to be addressed for a long time. In the lecture, you will learn comprehensively about "Food and Agriculture, Food and Fishing" and food and food education in Shimonoseki City.

Advanced technologies and changes in human, society and nature
~F.G. Yoon Gar, From the Perspective of Completion of Technology
Lecturer: Professor Takahiro Kirihara*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Advanced technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence), virtual currency, genome editing, and prenatal diagnosis are expected to change significantly in our lives. However, we do not know what and how much will change without certain criteria for determining change. It is clear from means of transportation, information equipment, home appliances, etc. that even though the lifestyle has changed completely due to the spread and penetration of technology and becoming a part of everyday life, the change is often not recognized. In this course, we will introduce a passage from the book "Completion of Technology" by German writer Friedrich Georg Yoongar, which was published shortly after World War II, and explore the perspective of understanding the changes that advanced technologies have on humans, society and nature. Instead of his critical point of view that society as a whole becomes a technically controlled organization and man becomes part of its function and complicit in the exploitation of nature, we examine this and think about the future of human nature that emerges from it.
