Lecturer: Professor Faculty of Economics SUNAHARA Masao

We will explore the development and transition of these two cities by looking at the map, Shimonoseki City, which developed from the port of kitamae-bune, and Moji, which was suddenly born in Shiota. In particular, the Kanmon Railway Plan, which was launched by the government, began with the concept of the Kanmon Railway Bridge by private companies, had a major impact on the formation of urban areas in both cities, and was twisted and twisted.
While introducing "what if", we will follow history while looking at the map of the actual time.

Timeless “Others” nurture medical personnel
- Social contribution through activities as a simulated patient
Lecturer: Special Professor, Preparatory Office for Establishment of New Faculty of NAKASHIMA Emiko

Special Professor, Preparatory Office for Establishment of New Faculty of TSUKAHARA Hitomi

People take care of medical care when they harm their health, but they are not just about receiving medical care. When you or your loved ones harm your health, why don't you participate in the education of medical professionals as a simulated patient because you want to receive good medical care? Because medical care is a human partner, failure is not allowed on the actual site. Therefore, when learning how to listen to the patient's story and how to deal with the patient in the classroom, a partner (simulated patient) is required. Beyond the time of “contributing to the education of healthcare professionals and receiving high-quality medical care in the future,” there is a social contribution that we want you to participate in, building relationships with others. This section introduces the significance, rewarding, and specific methods of simulated patients in the education of nurses and other medical professionals.

Applied Microeconomics
~Let's enjoy everyday life with microeconomics
Lecturer: Department of Economics ISHII Ryosuke

Even if you have a desire to learn and understand economics, there is a very difficult road ahead. Even at the beginner level, to study economics, you need to struggle with thick textbooks and difficult classes. Or maybe you gave up after such a fight. Economics textbooks are full of formulas and graphs. There are many students who are confused by the abstract content that is far from the prior image.
This course is open to the lecture subjects of the university in order to help such people. Let's find a microeconomic mechanism in the small problems of everyday life (but a big problem for the person) rather than a big story such as "the impact of global inflation on the monetary policy of the Bank of Japan." By using the words of microeconomics, you can understand the problem more deeply and accurately than ever before, and you may find hints that will enrich your life.
We plan to have a class structure that incorporates active learning elements such as group work. If you are not interested, please contact us in advance. Other contents are in the syllabus.

Informational health and the Constitution
"How to Face Digital Space" Reading
Lecturer: Department of Public Management OHNO Yusuke

In recent years, we have been living surrounded by information, and academic fields related to AI and data science are flourishing. On the other hand, constitutional issues have been pointed out, and there is a growing debate in constitutional science.
In this exercise, we will read Toriumi-Yamamoto's "How to Face Digital Space" on the recently asserted "Informational Health" and aim to understand "Informational Health". Specifically, we will have you read the book one chapter at a time and discuss with each other to deepen your understanding of the background that it was proposed. In this context, you may also touch on another issue area of "AI and the Constitution".
This exercise will help us objectively view our environment and think about how we act in an information-filled society.
This exercise is scheduled for a total of six times in Chapter 1 at one time (subject to change due to various circumstances).

Understanding and involvement of children concerned
Now is what I want to tell my teachers and parents.
Lecturer: Dr. Yoji
Kanehara, Director of Pediatric Clinic

When you hear a child you are worried, you tend to be considered a "child with illness or disability", but a child you are worried is considered to be "child who does not know how to get involved". And it is important to see children not only from the viewpoint of disability but also from various directions such as temperament, anxiety, sensation, attachment. In this course, we will talk about how to understand the "worried" children, students, and students who are in contact with them on a daily basis, and how to interact with such children and how to support them in an easy-to-understand manner. Based on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children, you can get many hints to understand children! This is a course that we would like parents and citizens to participate, including many teachers related to children.
