On October 13, 2025, Shimonoseki City University signed an exchange agreement and student exchange agreement with the Faculty of Languages of Asia and North Africa, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in Italy.

Founded in 1868, Ka Foscari University is world-renowned for the field of language and culture research, and the Faculty of Languages in Asia and Africa boasts the highest level of education and research in the world.
The university is located in the heart of the city of Venice, giving students a valuable opportunity to learn while feeling up close to the world-famous tourism resources, culture and art.

Under this agreement, both universities will collaborate in the fields of student exchange, joint research, and cross-cultural education.
It was also agreed that students from Shimonoseki City University will be able to take English courses related to tourism-related economics, business administration, law, and language, which are offered in the Master's Program at the university.

This signing symbolizes the integration of the educational and cultural values of both universities, not just the signing of documents.
The international competitiveness of students is expected to further enhance the international competitiveness of students by intersecting the high language education capabilities of Foscari University and the regional cooperation education of the University.
