About the need for laptops and iPads
【Faculty of Data Science · Faculty of Nursing only】

▶Faculty of Data Science
We will conduct Gaku Osamu using laptops owned by students, focusing on subjects of "specialization basics" and "specialized applications", so please prepare a laptop before enrollment.
Details such as recommended notebook specifications (specs) will be provided in the "Guide to Admission Procedures" to notify successful applicants.

▶Faculty of Nursing
In class, we will use electronic text and electronic materials. An iPad is a must-have in order to support many electronic materials and create an environment that can be viewed even in on-site training. e Details such as the transfer amount and the transfer deadline for the text fee will be provided in the "Guide to Admission Procedures" to notify successful applicants.

[Common matters]

Q. Could you show me where to stay?
We do not offer or introduce accommodation facilities.
Please check the website of each accommodation facility or travel agency.

Q. Is there a parking lot for pick-up at the test site or a waiting room for parents?
There is no parking lot around the test site and the test site. In addition, there is no waiting room for parents etc.
No annoying acts such as parking on the street or parking at nearby stores are strictly prohibited. Please use public transportation as much as possible.
Q. When is it necessary to submit a resident's card?
If the person or his / her spouse or parent (real father / adoptive father) has an address in Shimonoseki City from April 1, 2025, it is necessary to submit a resident's card at the time of application. In addition, mention of personal number (my number) and head of household is not necessary in principle.

The resident's card that needs to be submitted is as follows.
1.The person has an address in Shimonoseki City → Resident's card of the person (name and date of becoming resident)
2.A person other than the person has an address in Shimonoseki City → Resident's card of the person and the relevant person (name, date of becoming the resident, and relationship)
※If the above documents cannot be certified, you may be required to submit other documents.
※If you have issued a resident's card by all households, please submit all of it.
Q. I'm worried if I received it by mail, can I submit it directly to the university window?
Application documents will not be accepted at the university window.
In addition, we will not respond to any inquiries regarding the arrival status of documents. Please confirm the delivery status with the "Inquiry Number (underwriting number)" obtained when shipping by simple registered mail.
(However, if the person in charge of high school (teacher) submits together only for school recommendation type selection, it will also be accepted at the university window.)
Q. Can I change the order of the Faculty/Department/Department/Research System after applying?
I can't.
Q. When registering for the application, the kanji of your name and address will be errored.
Please enter an alternative character.
At the same time, please write the correct kanji in red in the correction column on the right side of the corresponding item on the printed application sheet.
(Example) taka, saki, III (Roman numerals) ⇒ 3
Q. Is the application form "must arrive"?
The postmark is valid on the last day of each application period. (Please refer to the application guidelines for details.)
※If you apply from outside Japan, the postmark is valid, but please email Admission Division in advance that you will apply from abroad.
Q. After completing the registration, I realized that I had mistaken the contents of the application registration. Can I fix it?
■Before payment of the entrance examination fee
Please register again with the correct content.
The registration information before the change will remain, but the information that the entrance examination fee has already been paid will be accepted by the university.

■After payment of the entrance examination fee
I can't change it.
However, the following items can be modified by hand on the printed application sheet.
Please fill in the correction column on the right side of the relevant item so that you can see the correction point in red.

・Name of applicant, name of guardian, gender, date of birth, telephone number, mobile number, e-mail address, address, high school information

If there is a correction of your name and address, please also correct the address sheet for attaching the envelope in red.
Q. I thought I was not able to register for the application, so I registered twice on the same schedule. What can I do?
It is not possible to delete the registration information. Please proceed with the payment of the entrance examination fee etc. for those who have registered correctly.
Registration information that has been paid for the entrance examination fee will be accepted by the university.
Q. I would like to redo the questionnaire at the time of application registration.
I'm asking you for reference, so you don't have to start over.
Q. I have completed my application registration. Where can I download the application sheet?
"Application sheet" and "Address sheet for envelope attachment" can be downloaded after payment of the entrance examination fee.
Log in to Post@net (Internet application site), select "Confirm application contents" from Shimonoseki City University from [Application contents list], and download it from the button at the bottom of the screen.
Q. At the time of application registration, the parent's name was "optional input", so if you proceed without input, the parent's name field on the application sheet was printed blank. May I stay this way?
Parents' names are optional input items, so you can leave them blank.
Q. I would like to ask for consideration in the examination. (Examination of test rooms and seats close to toilets, etc.)
Before applying, it is necessary to apply for consideration in the examination.
Please contact Admission Division in advance and apply for consideration. (Click here for details of the application for consideration.)
If you wish to consider on the day of the test, we will not be able to respond to all of the contents you wish to consider.
※Depending on the content you wish, some general selections can only be handled at the Shimonoseki Test Site.
Q. When can I download my admission ticket?

【3rd year transfer】

Q. I would like to know about the recognition of credits earned at the current school.
The credits earned before admission to the University will be certified based on the transcripts submitted. Details on credit certification will be announced to successful applicants, but if you would like to contact us in advance, please contact Educational Affairs Divisiton Student Affairs Department.

Q. If you issue a transcript of the university where you are currently enrolled, you will not be able to prove that you are expected to earn more than 62 credits of the application requirements because only the credits you have earned in the spring semester (first semester). What can I do?
On the portal site used by the university where you are enrolled, please submit a page with a list of classes being taken in the fall semester (this semester) and the number of credits there is a transcript (the grades up to the spring semester of 2025).

[School Recommendation Type Selection]

Q. Considering the location of the school where you are enrolled, it is a national recommendation frame, but if you meet the application requirements for regional recommendation, can you apply by regional recommendation?
You can do it.

Q. If I am out of the recommended staff at school, can I apply for a national recommendation?
I can't.
Schools subject to regional recommendation can only be applied by regional recommendation.
Q. Can schools located in Kitakyushu apply for both regional and national recommendations in Faculty of Nursing?
I can't.
In the case of Faculty of Nursing, schools located in Kitakyushu can apply only by regional recommendation.
(Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Data Science apply in the National Recommendation Framework.)

[Foreign Students]

Q. Who should I make the Japanese translation attached?
It is desirable that the school from the last school or Japanese language school have created and stamped the official seal.
However, if the above is difficult, you may create it yourself.
Q. Can I pay the entrance examination fee from a convenience store outside Japan?
I can't. If you live outside of Japan, you can only pay the entrance examination fee by credit card.
Q. If I mail application documents from outside Japan, can I mail them by way other than International Express Mail (EMS)?
We recommend mailing by EMS, but if you can get a tracking number, you can mail it in another way. (Example: DHL, etc.)
Q. If there is only an original graduation certificate or transcript, "Please submit the original to the university and return it at a later date." When will it be returned?
The certificate will be confirmed and returned as soon as the copy is taken, so you can return it as soon as possible the day after the application arrives.
Please be sure to enclose a reply envelope* (with a stamp for the simple registered mail fee and clearly stating the return address) on the application documents.
*Be sure to check the delivery status of the reply envelope. (Simple registered mail, letter pack, etc.)
Q. I have not completed the 12-year school education program in a foreign country, can I apply?
In a foreign country, if the course of school education is less than 12 years, a person who has completed the course of the designated preparatory course (preparatory course course designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) or the training facility (training facility designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) can apply.
In addition, if you have completed a school course corresponding to a high school that meets the requirements such as those who have completed a designated course of 11 years or more at some foreign schools, you can apply.

[General Selection]

Q. I would like to know about the out-of-school exam venue.

Q. Can I change the test site after applying?
I can't.
Q. I have closed my application for the off-campus test venue. Can I wait for cancellation?
There is a capacity at test venues other than Shimonoseki, so if the number of applicants reaches the capacity, the applicable test venue cannot be selected. In addition, we will not respond to waiting for cancellation, so please apply for another test venue.
Q. When registering for the application, I made a mistake in checking the common test subjects.
The application will not be affected because it is necessary to confirm whether you are taking the required course of the university.
(This does not mean that the selected subjects will be selected as scores for the entrance examination of the university.)
Q. If I apply for both the first half and mid-term dates of general selection, can I have one envelope for mailing the documents?
Even if you apply for both the first half and mid-term dates, please send it in separate envelopes.
Of course, we also need a separate survey (two in total).
Q. Which is the procedure for providing performance billing information for common tests, "Web method" or "Ticket method"?
"Web method".
When registering for an application, it is necessary to enter the "User ID (email address) / password" and "Application number" of the common test application site. For more information, please refer to pages 53 to 55 of the 2026 University Admission Common Test Examination Guide.
Also, before registering for an application, please check the "Application Number" from the My Page of the common test application site.
Q. Can I apply for both A and B in the first half of Faculty of Economics?
I can't. Please select one of them at the time of application.
In addition, it is not possible to change the method after application.
