OH Hyangsun (OH Hyangsun) of TUFS, who has been involved in Korean language education for 25 years, received a merit award from the Central Association of Korea-Japan Friendship Association. Today I visited the President Office for the report.
In fact, this is the second time that Mr. Kure has been awarded the merit award. The first award was given by the Youth Committee of the Gyeongsangnam-do Korea-Japan Friendship Association in 2011, and this time by the Central Association of Korea-Japan Friendship Association, a national organization. In particular, in a 16-year citizen lecture, it was recognized that a total of 1,000 ordinary citizens were taught Korean, which led to the award.

The Korea-Japan Friendship Association is an organization that seeks to interact with the two people through grassroots activities at the private level, and has branches nationwide. Yamaguchi Prefecture is rare in Japan, with branches in seven cities and has about 1,000 members as a federation. We organize mutual visits and exchange meetings of citizens, including art festivals, and regularly engage in activities to deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples through events such as language classes and Korean cooking classes.

Regarding this award, Dr. Kure said, "I am delighted to be recognized for continuing grassroots activities. The number of students who want to learn Korean at our university or study abroad in Korea has increased, and I would like to continue working on Korean language education while having a strong sense of mission to fulfill their wishes."
President, Korea, also gave words of blessing to Professor Kure, who is active as a bridge between Japan and South Korea.
