Gifu University's Rubber Baseball Club has decided to participate in the national competition.

　The rubber-ball baseball club participated in the “2023 West Japan District Student Rubber Baseball Federation Spring I Club League Match” and won the championship, and decided to participate in the 46th All Japan Student Rubber Baseball Championship. The tournament has also achieved many excellent individual results such as MVP, excellent pitcher awards, and best nine.

　A send-off party was held on August 21 (Monday), and a list of prizes from the university's national tournament was handed by Chair to Seiya Ohno (3rd year in Department of Public Management), the captain of the Rubber Baseball Club.

　At the farewell party, the rubber-ball baseball club talked about their enthusiasm for the national tournament. Captain Ohno said in a chat, "The atmosphere of the team is bright and a well-balanced and reliable team that always plays an active role when someone goes around."

　The department visited Shimonoseki City Hall on the same day and reported to Shintaro Maeda, Mayor Shimoseki of his decision to participate in the national tournament. Mayor Maeda received words of encouragement saying, "I want you to carry the name of Shimonoseki and come to the national competition with all my might." We look forward to playing an active part in the national competition of the Rubber Baseball Club.
