On August 18 (Sun), a hands-on learning event for elementary school students and parents living in the city will be held at Chofu Garden, Cable Net Shimonoseki Co., Ltd. (J: COM Shimonoseki), and Shimonoseki City University Co., Ltd. Held jointly.

　At the event, Dr. Mitsuhiro Kishimoto, a Whale Class at the University, was held to learn about the ecology of whales and the relationship between Shimonoseki and whales. In the quiz-style lecture, participants were working on unique issues with parents and children.

In addition to the lectures, we also made whale oil candles with our students, toured the whale materials exhibition room in Chofu Garden with commentary by Professor Kishimoto, and experienced tea ceremony to enjoy matcha and sweets.
