On October 3, 2024 (Thursday), a briefing session on "DATASALAD" was held in the large conference room on the 5th floor of Shimonoseki City University.

　DATASALAD is a service that can be used by users immediately by consolidating and visualizing government statistics and big data. In this briefing, Dr. Kozaki of Department of Economics gave a detailed explanation of the outline and usage of the Service developed in his previous job.

　On the day of the event, about 15 participants gathered and had the opportunity to touch the provided data while actually registering as a member of the service using the personal computer they brought. Participants were able to actually manipulate various data, experience how to analyze and use them, and spent a very meaningful time.

　After the briefing, they commented, "It is very convenient to be able to use a wealth of data immediately, and it is very useful in research and practical work," which further increased expectations for future data utilization. It is expected that DATASALAD will further promote the analysis and utilization of regional economic data.

　OIST will continue to actively support the use of DATASALAD and contribute to the development of local communities and research activities.
