On October 3, 2024, "DATASALAD" briefing session was held in the large conference room on the 5th floor of Shimonoseki City University.

　DATASALAD is a service that can be used immediately by users by consolidating and visualizing government statistics and big data. At this briefing, Prof. Kozaki of Department of Economics gave a detailed explanation of the outline and usage of the service developed in his previous job.

　On the day of the event, about 15 participants gathered, and there was an opportunity to interact with the data provided while actually registering as a member of the service using the personal computer they brought. Participants were able to actually manipulate a variety of data, experience their analysis and usage, and had a very meaningful time.

　After the briefing session, participants commented, "It is very convenient to be able to use abundant data immediately, which is very useful in research and practice," which further boosted expectations for future use of data. It is expected that the analysis and utilization of regional economic data will be further promoted through DATASALAD.

　The university will continue to actively support the use of DATASALAD and contribute to the development of local communities and research activities.
