On July 13 (Thursday), the "Kanmon Regional Joint Study Group Results Report Meeting" was held jointly by Kitakyusyu City University Regional Strategic Research Institute, Kitakyusyu City University and the Center for Regional Co-creation, at the 3rd floor of the West Japan General Exhibition Center.
　After the opening remarks by Masato Yanai, Vice President of Kitakyusyu City University and Director of Regional Strategic Research Institute, Professor Akira Uchida, Chieko Terada and Professor Toshimitsu Nanba reported on the results of the research conducted in FY2016. 　As the second part, we held a symposium entitled "Regional Disaster Prevention and Reconstruction." Based on the Kumamoto Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake, we discussed "disaster prevention and the direction of town development in the Kanmon area" and received lively opinions from the venue. Finally, Dr. Hidetsugu Hamada, Director of Regional Co-creation Center, Shimonoseki City University, gave a speech.
