Studying at Shimonoseki City University

PBL (problem-solving learning)

Problem-solving learning PBL, industry-government-academia collaboration

PBL is a course in which students work on issues and issues received from companies and governments, while receiving guidance from working adults.
Through PBL, students can learn the importance of building teamwork and improve their communication skills.
In December, companies and government officials will be invited to hold a debriefing session for students to make presentations. An activity report will be compiled at the end of January based on the content of the interim report meeting.

Aggressive attitude and initiatives that lead to many business negotiations

Theme: Business negotiations support for international food business meetings

Seven second and third graders participated in international food business talks and conducted PR and business negotiations for food in Shimonoseki City. Over six months for this day, we conducted company tours as interviews and product research to deepen product understanding, and devised so that the appeal of the product can be conveyed in our own words. We worked together as a team, such as creating posters mainly for second graders, creating business talks materials mainly for third graders, and considering displays and designs that would attract buyers' eyes.

Through this activity, I realized that it would lead to the development of new sales channels for companies depending on my way of communicating. In addition, active communication and initiatives, such as making appointments to companies and listening to actual voices, have been an experience that can be used when becoming a member of society. With the goal of becoming a Shimonoseki City Hall staff, I would like to continue to act positively without forgetting this attitude.
