#Open Lecture

Open Lecture “Scenery of Shimonoseki in the Early Modern Shimonoseki” has been launched.

On December 13, 2017 (Wednesday), an open lecture on civic college, "Scenery of Shimonoseki: Reading from Painting Materials and Foreigners' Noriyuki" was held at the I-201 classroom of the main building of the university.
Professor Shinichi Sakuragi of the Faculty of Economics University talked about the prosperity of Shimonoseki by overlaying paintings depicting Shimonoseki during the Edo period, photographs taken at the end of the Edo period, photographs taken at the end of the Tokugawa period, and the state of Shimonoseki written by foreigners such as Siebold. Many participants participated and we received very satisfying impressions from everyone.

The open lecture in 2017 was also the last one in this course. Thank you very much for taking this opportunity. We are planning to hold courses for spring and fall semesters next year, so we look forward to your participation.
