The 11th Whale Library Symposium was held.

 On February 9, 2019 (Saturday), the 11th Whaling Archives Symposium “Why are you not interested in whaling issues?” at the University’s Main Building I-206 classroom. -Takeji Morishita, Representative of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) to speak in real terms! -We held a meeting.

 At the symposium, Joji Morishita, the representative of the Japanese government of the International Whaling Commission (IWC), was invited to give a keynote speech in Part 1, and Mr. Joji Morishita said, "Can we catch whales? Is it wrong? He gave a very valuable talk about the current state of whaling and the circumstances leading to the withdrawal of the IWC, entitled "The Story of Whaling I Want to Tell Students".

 After taking a break, in the second part of the symposium, "Why are you not interested in the whaling problem?" -Takeji Morishita, Representative of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) to speak in real terms! -Under the coordinator Mitsuhiro Kishimoto (Researcher commissioned by the Regional Co-creation Center attached to Shimonoseki City University), Mr. Joji Morishita, Mr. Junko Kojima, Manager of Shimonoseki Whale Museum, and Mr. Yukino Aosaki and Mr. Maho Yoshizawa, representing our university, held a symposium while introducing the results of a questionnaire on whales conducted to students in advance.

 More than 130 participants, including students, listened enthusiastically, and it was a very fruitful symposium.

 The Whale Archives, together with the Fuku Archives, will contribute to the community by further encouraging research and research and enhancing the materials. We look forward to your continued understanding and cooperation.
