[Research theme]
Gathering regional and tourism information from the Web and examining its usefulness
[Summary of Report]
In recent years, individuals are increasingly collecting information from the Internet as a means of obtaining local information or sightseeing and excursion information. In addition, visitors who visit sightseeing spots disseminate their experiences and impressions on SNS and other means. With the development of information technology, it has become possible to transmit information more easily than before, and "com-of-mouth" information that describes personal experiences is emphasized as the "live voice" of users and experienced people.
On the other hand, the Internet is full of vast amounts of information, and there is a need for technologies and methods to find necessary information. Therefore, in this study, we will collect local information related to Shimonoseki for use in tourism promotion and regional development from the vast amount of data existing on the Internet, and examine ways to extract the characteristics of this region. This time, among SNSs that can transmit information, we will focus on Twitter, which has a particularly high flashability and can easily transmit information, and collect, accumulate, and analyze the transmitted information to gain various knowledge. The purpose is that.
