Our university's semi-rigid baseball club will participate in the national tournament.
This year, the semi-rigid baseball club won the Chugoku District University semi-rigid baseball spring tournament with three wins and one loss, and has won the right to participate in the national tournament.
The tournament has also achieved many excellent individual results, including the best player, the most winning pitcher, and the top batter.
On July 21, a farewell party was held on July 21 (Wednesday), and a list of prizes from the university's national tournament was handed by Chair to Yoshiki Urakami (3rd year in Department of International Commerce), the captain of the semi-rigid baseball team. (In fact, Chair is an OB of the university's semi-rigid baseball club, and he has participated in the same national tournament in 1973!)
In addition to the semi-rigid baseball club, deputy general Sekimoto (3rd year in Department of International Commerce), Takumasa Tanda (3rd year in Department of Economics), and Yoki Ihara (3rd year in Department of Public Management) also attended the send-off party.
The department visited Shimonoseki City Hall on the same day and reported to Shintaro Maeda, Mayor Shimoseki of his decision to participate in the national tournament.
Mayor Maeda, who had experience in semi-rigid baseball when he was a student, and still loves baseball, received words of encouragement that he hopes that the university's semi-rigid baseball club will create a "Shimonoseki whirlwind" at the national competition and deliver energy to Shimonoseki City.
