#Scholarship

[Japan Student Services Organization] Emergency response, etc. for students affected by the COVID-19 infection (re-notification and extension of the deadline)

I would like to inform you of the title as follows:
Students who meet the following requirements and wish to use the system should consult with Student Support Division in advance and complete procedures by the deadline.

※Please contact Student Support Division as soon as possible to confirm that the requirements for the system are met.

1.Loan scholarships will be issued early (for those who have already been hired) 

◆Target: Type 1 Scholarships and Class 2 Scholarship
 ※1 Those who have already been hired as Type 1 Scholarship Students or Class 2 Scholarship Students
 ※2 The payment for January and February will be transferred in December, so the next scholarship will be transferred in March.
 ※3 Depending on the status of the scholarship you are using, it may not be available.

    (Examples that cannot be used)

  • The scholarship transfer status for December 2021 is "closed / suspended" and "pending".
  • If you wish to receive a Type 1 Scholarship in advance, the support category for the benefit scholarship received has not been determined until February 2022.
  • Procedure of change from human assurance to Institutional Guarantee (including schedule)

◆Documents to be submitted: Early grant application

◆Submission deadline: October 29, 2021 (Fri.) 17:00 

2.Emergency interest-free loan type scholarship 

◆Those who meet all of the following 1 to 5)

  1. Meet the criteria for class 2 scholarships (person, academic ability, household budget)
  2. Have not received a Class 2 scholarship loan at the time of recommendation
  3. Have not received a large amount of remittances from the household (remittance amount must not be 1.5 million yen or more per year)
  4. High percentage of part-time job income to living expenses and tuition
  5. Significant decrease in part-time job income of students due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection

    (In fiscal 2021, part-time job income decreased by more than 50% due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection, mainly due to the expansion of the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent spread. (i.e.g., no longer earning expected income because of the planned part-time job)

◆Loan period: From the month in which part-time job income decreased significantly due to the application of declaration of a state of emergency or priority measures to prevent spread, from the desired month until March 2022 (the loan is limited to fiscal 2021 only).

◆Documents to be submitted: The application documents will be handed over to Student Support Division. If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible.

◆Final submission deadline (accepted from time to time): January 7, 2022 (Fri.) 17:00 

3.Continuous loan of Class II scholarships for students who are on leave of absence

◆Requirements of the Target (those who meet all of the following 1-3)

  1. Those who have received a Class 2 Scholarship
  2. Those who take leave of absence from school during FY2021 and participate in volunteer activities (double learning) due to the impact of the expansion of COVID-19 infection
    ※Those who have returned to school at the time of application are not eligible.
  3. Those who recognize that the activities during the leave period of absence are meaningful and that the school principal recognizes the need for scholarship loans
    ※If it is recognized that the activities are activities such as "social contribution activities", "become a plus in the field of major", or "helpful for the formation of one's own human beings".

◆Loan period: Up to one year from the month in which the activity was started
      ※Persons who commenced activities during the leave of absence from April 3rd to March 4th.

◆Documents to be submitted: Application for continuing scholarships during leave of absence

◆Submission deadline: January 14, 2022 (Fri.) 17:00
