On June 23 (Thursday), the Open Lecture “New Development of German Life and Medical Ethics-What are the Ethical Challenges of PGD and Genome Editing?"

　Professor Takahiro Kirihara of Faculty of Economics University, explained the recent situation of biomedical ethics in Germany. There were many laws such as the "Human Dignity" clause and the embryo Protection Law, as well as specialized laws and phrases such as genome editing and reproductive medicine, but there was a detailed explanation and commentary. He also talked about the status of medical ethics in Japan, including the discussions on the status of medical ethics in Japan.

The lecture was given online using Zoom. The students listened enthusiastically while looking at the materials distributed in advance and the charts shown in the lecture. In addition, each student expressed their opinions and impressions, exchanged opinions with the instructor, and the course was very fruitful.
