6.Matters concerning the evaluation of the results of Gaku Osamu and the criteria for certification of graduation or completion

Number of units required (undergraduate schools)
Faculty of Economics
Department of Economics (applicable for students enrolled in 2024)
- 1. 4 credits of "Specialized Exercise II" (or 4 credits for courses taken by the method specified separately if it is not possible to take the Specialized Seminar II).
- 2 Specialized courses for other faculties can be entered up to 6 credits.
Department of International Commerce (applicable for students enrolled in 2024)
- 1. 4 credits of "Specialized Exercise II" (or 4 credits for courses taken by the method specified separately if it is not possible to take the Specialized Seminar II).
- 2 Specialized courses for other faculties can be entered up to 6 credits.
Department of Public Management (applicable for students enrolled in 2024)

Faculty of Data Science (opened in April 2024)
Number of credits required for graduation
Department of Data Science (applicable for students enrolled in 2024)
- Students must acquire two credits for foreign languages, English Ia, English Ic, and English Id.
- The specialized basics of mathematics and intelligence must acquire two credits each: Mathematics basics, introduction to DS programming, align parathematics, analytical statistics, and algorithms.
- Introductory Data Science, Data Science Basic, Information & Occupational Data Science, Basic Information and Occupation, and Data Science Expert.
- To utilize data analysis, you must acquire two credits: regression analysis, quantitative data analysis, categorycal data analysis, artificial intelligence introduction, quantitative data analysis exercises, data mining, categorycal data analysis exercises, and data analysis exercises.
- Courses and graduation research must be earned for two credits for Colmic I, Research Ethics, and Colchium II, as well as four credits for DS Project and Graduation Research.
- You must acquire two credits for each of the specialized application management information and the outline of health and medical science, and at least 6 credits for elective subjects in any of the fields of business data science and health data science.
- Courses taken in other faculties can be included in graduation credits up to 6 credits.
Criteria for evaluation
Judgment of grades is made by a 100-point scale method, and 60 points or more are passed (unit is certified) and 59 points or less are rejected.
GPA(Grade Point Average)
The GPA aims to increase students' motivation to study Osamu, as well as to contribute to strict grade evaluation and student support. In addition, there are two types of "semester GPA" as an indicator of the status and achievements of Gaku Osamu in the relevant semester, and "Total GPA" as an indicator of the status and achievements of Gaku Osamu during the entire period of study.
The number given according to the grade evaluation is called GP (Grade Point), and the GPA can be calculated by applying it to the formula specified in the outline of the handling of the GPA system at Shimonoseki City University.
Subject to GPA
The subjects for which the GPA is calculated are compulsory subjects and elective subjects. However, the following subjects are not eligible.
- Subjects that certify credits based on the Shimonoseki City University Credit Certification Guidelines (established on April 1, 2017)
- Courses for which credits have been acquired in accordance with the Rules for the Three Universities of Shimonoseki City (2007 Regulation No. 64) and the Courses and Course Rules for Accompanying the Kanmon Credit Consortium (2009 Regulation No. 30)
- Courses for undergraduate students of Shimonoseki City University (established on March 31, 2021) and earned credits.
Number of credits required for graduate school Graduate School of Economics
After acquiring at least 30 credits, including 8 exercises conducted by the research supervisor, receive necessary research guidance, and then pass the master's thesis examination and examination of the master's thesis and examination conducted by the graduate school.
Criteria for evaluation
Students will comprehensively evaluate their understanding of academic literature, their ability to make presentations in seminars, and actively participate in discussions. The evaluation is represented by four types: excellent (80 points or more), good (70 points or more), acceptable (60 points or more), and non-disable (less than 60 points). .
Graduate School Graduation Standards
Graduate School of Economics shall confer a master's degree in economics to students who meet the following requirements:
- Those who have been enrolled in the school for a prescribed period of time and have acquired the prescribed credits required for completion.
- Those who have received the necessary research guidance and passed the master'sthesis examination and examination
- A person who has acquired research skills and advanced specialized knowledge in the specialized field, as well as basic knowledge of economics and business management
Grade evaluation criteria for master's thesis
- Whether the theme setting of the paper is clear and appropriate
- Whether the composition and logical deployment of the paper is consistent
- Whether prior research or related research is properly considered
- Whether the notes, materials, citations, etc. are properly displayed and the format of the paper is in place.
- Whether a certain level of knowledge is presented to the research issues
- Whether the response in the final exam is correct?
