Number of credits required (faculties)
Faculty of Economics
Department of Economics (applicable to students enrolled in 2024)
- 1 4 credits of “Specialized Exercise II” (or 4 credits of courses taken in a separate manner if you cannot take Specialized Exercise II) must be acquired.
- 2 Specialized courses for other undergraduates can be entered up to 6 credits.
Department of International Commerce (applicable to students enrolled in 2024)

- For foreign languages, English Ia, English Ib, English Ic, and English Id must be acquired.
- Mathematics and Information Basics of Specialized Basics must acquire two credits each: Mathematics Basics, DS Programming Introductory, Linear Algebraic, Analytical, Mathematical Statistics, and Algorithms.
- Introductory DS and Basics on Specialized Basics must acquire two credits each: Data Science Introductory, Data Science Introductory Exercise, Data Science Basic, Information and Occupation, and Data Science Exercise.
- Data analysis utilization must acquire two credits each: regression analysis, quantitative data analysis, categoryal data analysis, artificial intelligence overview, quantitative data analysis exercises, data mining, categoryal data analysis exercises, and data analysis exercises.
- For specialized basic exercises and graduation research, students must acquire 2 credits each of Coloquium I, Research Ethics, Coloquium II, and 4 credits each of DS projects and graduation research.
- Students must acquire 2 credits each of the management information and health and medical sciences, and acquire 6 or more elective subjects in any of the fields of business data science and health data science.
- Courses taken in other faculties can be included in the graduation credits up to 6 credits.
Evaluation criteria
Grades will be determined by the 100-point scale method, 60 points or more will be passed (units will be certified), and 59 points or less will be rejected.
GPA(Grade Point Average)
The purpose of the GPA is to increase students' motivation to learn and contribute to strict grade evaluation and student support. In addition, there are two types: "Sameter GPA" as an index showing the status and results of Osamu during the semester, and "Total GPA" as an index showing the status and results of Osamu during the entire period during enrollment.
The number given according to the grade evaluation is called GP (Gerge Point), and you can calculate the GPA by applying it to the formula specified in the outline of the GPA system at Shimonoseki City University.
Subjects subject to GPA
The subjects subject to the calculation of GPA are required and elective subjects. However, the following subjects are not eligible.
- Courses that certify credits based on the Shimonoseki City University Credit Certification Guidelines (established on April 1, 2017)
- Courses that have earned credits based on the Courses and Courses Regulations (Regulation No. 64 of 2007) and the Courses and Courses Regulations (Regulation No. 30 of 2009) in accordance with the University Consortium Entrance Credit Agreement
- Courses that have earned credits based on the Guidelines for Students of Shimonoseki City University Graduate School Courses (established on March 31, 2021).

Students must acquire at least 30 credits, including 8 credits conducted by the research supervisor, receive the necessary research guidance, and pass the examination and examination of the master's thesis conducted by the graduate school.
Evaluation criteria
Students will comprehensively evaluate their understanding of academic literature, their ability to present at seminars, and their active participation in discussions. The evaluation is expressed in four types: superior (80 points or more), good (70 points or more), acceptable (60 points or more), and non-sustainable (less than 60 points). You.
Graduate degree grant criteria
Graduate School of Economics will confer a Master's degree to students who meet the following requirements:
- A person who has been enrolled for a prescribed period of time and has acquired the prescribed credits required for completion
- Those who have received the necessary research guidance and have passed the examination and examination of the master's thesis.
- A person who has acquired basic knowledge of economics and business administration, as well as research skills and advanced expertise in such specialized fields.
Grade evaluation criteria for master's thesis
- Whether the theme setting of the paper is clear and appropriate
- Whether there is consistency in the composition and logic development of the paper
- Whether prior research or related research is properly considered
- Whether notes, materials, quotes, etc. are properly displayed and the format of the paper is prepared.
- Whether or not certain knowledge has been presented in response to the research topic
- Whether the response in the final test is accurate
