Liberal arts

In order to survive in an increasingly complex modern society, it is necessary not only to acquire specialized knowledge, but also the comprehensive ability to integrate different ideas and fragmentary information to make reasonable decisions. Liberal Arts aims to develop comprehensive human resources with creative thinking, judgment, and application skills based on abundant culture by freely learning various fields. Shimoseki Studies

Shimo-Kwansei Gakuin is a liberal arts education course for the purpose of community-based education and research. It consists of three parts: sightseeing in Shimonoseki, Shimonoseki's industry and Mirai, and PBL (problem-solving learning). Students who spend four years in Shimonoseki are proud of, culture, nature and environment In addition to industry, it is a content that allows you to understand various issues as a local city, such as aging population. In addition, while introducing the various measures we are currently working on, we conduct classes that transcend the boundaries of liberal arts subjects so that we can think about solutions for the future together with students.

Career Education

Even after graduation, students can take Career Design from the first year to improve their qualities and develop the skills necessary to achieve social and professional independence. In the "work experience training" for first and second graders and "internship" for third graders conducted in Japan and overseas, it is not possible to learn only on the desk while interacting with various people inside and outside the university. We also provide opportunities to demonstrate our expertise and abilities that cannot be done as a lesson subject. Through these career education, we are working to develop human resources who can be useful to society by broadening our horizons and taking a bird's-eye view of society.

Problem-solving learning PBL

PBL is a course in which students work on issues and issues received from companies and governments, while receiving guidance from working adults.
Through PBL, students can learn the importance of building teamwork and improve their communication skills.
In December, companies and government officials will be invited to hold a debriefing session for students to make presentations. An activity report will be compiled at the end of January based on the content of the interim report meeting.
