From the five subjects of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, life and health sciences, human rights and symbiosis, we aim to acquire a high and diverse culture by selecting a wide range of subjects according to our interests.

Shimo-Kwansei Gakuin

Shimo-Kwansei Gakuin is a liberal arts education course for the purpose of education and research rooted in the community. It consists of three parts: sightseeing in Shimonoseki, industry and Mirai in Shimonoseki, and PBL (problem-solving learning). Students who spend four years in Shimonoseki are proud of their history, culture, nature, environment, industry, etc. In addition to the contents, it can understand various issues facing local cities, such as the declining birthrate and aging population. Furthermore, while introducing various measures that we are currently working on, we conduct classes that transcend the boundaries of liberal arts subjects to think about solutions for the future together with students.

Career Education

Students can take "Career Design" from the first year in order to improve their qualifications and develop the skills necessary to achieve social and professional independence after graduation. In the "Work Experience Training" for first and second graders and the "Internship" for third graders, while interacting with various people inside and outside the university, we also provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their expertise and abilities that cannot be confirmed by desk alone. Through these career education, we are working to develop human resources who are useful in society by cultivating employment skills while broadening our horizons and taking a bird's-eye view of society.

Problem-solving learning PBL

PBL is a subject in which students work on issues and issues received from companies and governments while receiving guidance from working adults.
Through PBL, students will be able to learn the importance of building teamwork and improve communication skills.
In December, we will invite companies and government members to hold a briefing session, and students will make presentations. We will summarize the activity report at the end of January based on the contents of the interim report meeting.
In line with the progress of globalization in society and industry, we are also implementing this program overseas.
