Sunday, August 18 At Chofu Garden, a hands-on learning event for elementary school students and parents living in the city will be held at Chofu Garden, Cable Net Shimonoseki Co., Ltd. (J: COM Shimonoseki), It was co-hosted by Shimonoseki City University.

　At the event, a "Shimonoseki Whale Class" was held by Professor Mitsuhiro Kishimoto, where he learned about the ecology of whales and the relationship between Shimonoseki and whales. In the quiz-style lectures, participants were working on unique issues with parents and children.

In addition to the lectures, there were plenty of contents such as making whale oil candles with our students, visiting the whale materials exhibition room in the Chofu Garden with commentary by Dr. Kishimoto, and tea ceremony experience where you can enjoy matcha and sweets.
