On October 12, a symposium commemorating the opening of the Faculty of Data Science Shimonoseki City University was held.

At the symposium, we invited President Akimichi Takemura of Shiga University, a pioneer in data science education in Japan, to give a commemorative lecture entitled "Data Science Education at Universities."

The panel discussion was attended by five panelists, including President Akimichi Takemura of Shiga University, Professor YAMANE Satoshi of Faculty of Data Science University, Kotaro Fujii of the Management Planning Office of Thank You Drag Co., Ltd., Deputy Mayor Yohei Kitajima of Shimonoseki City University, and Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Dean of the Faculty of Data Science of Shimonoseki City University.

In the panel discussion, various opinions were presented based on their expertise and experience under the theme of "TUT Faculty of Data Science and Community Contribution: City Policy and Cooperation with Companies-".

Approximately 170 people, including students, participated on the day, and it was a fruitful symposium where many people listened eagerly.
