On October 29, 2024, Nagoya University and Shimonoseki City University concluded a joint research agreement with the aim of conducting research and development of data science-oriented information and communication technologies.
The two parties will contribute to solving social issues and promoting regional industries through the establishment of elemental technologies for information and communications that support a wide range of application fields of data science.
Professor Toshiaki Fujii of the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University, and Professor Yukihiro Bando of Faculty of Data Science University will participate in this joint research as representatives of each organization.
Professor Fujii is a world-renowned researcher who has proposed the first "light space method" in which 3D spatial information is represented by light ray information, and has established an academic field of 3D video processing based on light ray spatial expression.
