Three Policies

Faculty of Economics

Faculty of Economics, Shimonoseki City University will acquire the following four abilities of self-understanding (self-management skills), innovation, information literacy, and international skills in order to send creative and autonomous professionals who can adapt to the diversifying and complex modern society.

  1. Self-understanding (self-management skills): Being interested in social and local issues, be aware of the environment in which they are placed, understand the role they should play, and motivate them to realize them.
  2. Innovation power: By properly writing and giving presentations, you can express your opinion and discuss it with others, and work with others to realize new ideas based on creativity and flexibility of thinking. Can do.
  3. Information literacy: Based on the knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and information processing necessary for studying economics, students acquire the ability to collect information necessary for solving problems and to analyze the collected information appropriately.
  4. International Power: Based on knowledge and understanding of different cultures, students can collect and analyze information in languages other than their native language, and communicate by expressing one's thoughts.
  5. Professional skills: Based on the above abilities, students can discover, investigate, and analyze problems based on their deep knowledge of their own specialized fields, act independently to solve problems, and check their own actions.

The diprom policy of each department of Faculty of Economics is as follows:

(1) Department of Economics

Based on basic knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and economic theory, Department of Economics provides students with expertise in theory, history, and policies related to economic analysis, finance, fiscal, social policy, global economy, and regional economy and society.

(2) Faculty of Economics Department of International Commerce

At Department of International Commerce, based on basic knowledge of commerce, business administration and economics, students acquire specialized knowledge of theory and practice related to international economic and international relations, East Asia, distribution, marketing, business administration information, accounting and bookkeeping.

(3) Faculty of Economics Department of Public Management

Department of Public Management confers a bachelor's degree to students who have acquired a wide range of knowledge of theories and practices of public policy, management, and local communities based on basic knowledge of economics and business administration.

Curriculum Policy Curriculum Development and Implementation Policy

Faculty of Economics

Faculty of Economics, Shimonoseki City University organizes and implements a curriculum based on the following policies so that students can acquire the knowledge and skills set forth in the Diploma Policy.

  1. The curriculum consists of three pillars: basic education, liberal arts education, and specialized education.
  2. Academic literacy and basic exercises are assigned to the first year education
  3. Seminar courses are set up in each year, and small-group interactive classes are offered for all grades.
  4. Establish systems for foreign languages, foreign language training, and study abroad
  5. Career education subjects for career design are assigned to each grade
  6. Systematic courses and realization of Gaku Osamu Osamu by numbering, system diagram, syllabus, CAP system, and realization of Gaku Osamu
  7. Evaluation of Gaku Osamu's achievements based on the assessment policy

Department of Economics organizes and implements the curriculum based on the following policies so that students can acquire the knowledge and skills set forth in the Diploma Policy.

(2) Department of International Commerce

Department of International Commerce organizes and implements the curriculum based on the following policies so that students can acquire the knowledge and skills set forth in the Diploma Policy.

(3) Department of Public Management

Department of Public Management organizes and implements the curriculum based on the following policies so that students can acquire the knowledge and skills set forth in the Diploma Policy.

Admission policy Policy Policy Policies for Accepting Admissions

Faculty of Economics

Shimonoseki City University Faculty of Economics is seeking the following students:

  1. Students who aim to play an active role in a company based on their knowledge of economy and management.
  2. Students who aim to play an active role in public places such as governments and NPOs based on knowledge on administrative and financial matters
  3. Students who aim to be active in the international community based on advanced foreign language skills
  4. Students aiming to play an active role in the ICT industry and data analysis based on knowledge in information and mathematical fields
  5. Students who aim to be active as educators and researchers based on their deep knowledge of society and human beings.

The contents that are expected to be learned before enrollment are as follows.

  1. Basic knowledge and skills necessary to learn economics include knowledge of Japanese language, geography history and citizens, mathematics, science, and foreign languages learned at high schools.
  2. Ability for thinking, judgment, expression skills, etc., who are interested in daily social and economic issues and think about solutions by themselves, and communication skills cultivated through group learning and extracurricular activities such as high schools
  3. Independence, diversity, and collaboration, the attitude of learning with a sense of purpose, the ability to understand different cultures and values, and the public spirit obtained through activities in the local community.

Each department of Faculty of Economics is seeking the following students:

(1) Department of Economics

Department of Economics is interested in the diverse issues of the local community and the international community, and seeks students with knowledge and skills that form the basis of theory, history and policies related to economic and social issues, as well as logical reading comprehension.

(2) Department of International Commerce

Department of International Commerce seeks students who are interested in global business and corporate management in modern times, are eager to take on international exchange and have basic language skills and information processing skills.

(3) Department of Public Management

Department of Public Management seeks students who are willing to work actively in local communities, are interested in various public issues facing the community and society, and have the logical thinking skills to learn them academically.
