7.Matters related to evaluation pertaining to the results of Gaku Osamu and standards for accreditation of graduation or completion

Number of required credits (faculties)
Faculty of Economics
Department of Economics (applicable from 2024 students)
- 1. Four credits of "Specialized Exercise II" (or four credits of subjects taken by a method specified separately if they cannot take the Specialized Exercise II) must be acquired.
- (2) Specialized courses in other departments may enter up to 6 credits.
Department of International Commerce (applicable from 2024 students)
- 1. Four credits of "Specialized Exercise II" (or four credits of subjects taken by a method specified separately if they cannot take the Specialized Exercise II) must be acquired.
- (2) Specialized courses in other departments may enter up to 6 credits.
Department of Public Management (applicable from 2024 students)
- 1. Four credits of "Specialized Exercise II" (or four credits of subjects taken by a method specified separately if they cannot take the Specialized Exercise II) must be acquired.

Faculty of Data Science
Number of credits required for graduation
Department of Data Science (applicable from 2024 students)
- A foreign language must acquire two credits each: English Ia, English Ib, English Ic, and English Id.
- The mathematical and information fundamentals of expertise must acquire two credits each: mathematical basics, DS programming introduction, linear algebraic algebraic, analysis, mathematical statistics, and algorithm theory.
- Introductory DS/Basics for Specializations must acquire two credits each: introductory data science, introductory data science, introductory data science, introductory data science, information and occupation, and data science exercises.
- Data analysis utilization must acquire two units each: regression analysis, quantitative data analysis, categoryical data analysis, artificial intelligence overview, quantitative data analysis exercises, data mining, categoryal data analysis exercises, and data analysis exercises.
- You must acquire two credits each of the management information summary and the health and medical science general, and at least six credits of elective subjects in either business data science or health data science.
- Courses attending other undergraduate courses can be included in graduation credits up to 6 credits.
Faculty of Nursing (established in April 2025)
Number of credits required for graduation
Department of Nursing (applicable from 2025 students)
- ①Students must acquire at least four credits from "Computer Science", "Computer Utilization I", "Information Literacy", "Computer Utilization II", and "Programming".
- ②Specialized courses in other departments may be included in graduation credits up to 6 credits.
Criteria for evaluation
The grade is determined by the 100-point scale method, and 60 points or more will be passed (the unit will be certified), and 59 points or less will be rejected.
GPA(Grade Point Average)
The purpose of the GPA is to increase students' motivation to learn Osamu, as well as to contribute to rigorous performance evaluation and student support. In addition, there are two types: "Semester GPA" as an indicator of the situation and results of Gaku Osamu in the relevant semester, and "Total GPA" as an indicator of the situation and results of Gaku Osamu during the entire period during enrollment.
The number given according to the performance evaluation is called GP (Grade Point), and GPA can be calculated by applying it to the formula specified in the outline of the handling of the GPA system at Shimonoseki City University.
GPA Subjects
Courses subject to GPA calculation are compulsory and elective courses. However, the following subjects are not eligible.
- Courses that certify credits based on the Shimonoseki City University Credit Certification Guidelines (established on April 1, 2017)
- Courses that have earned credits based on the rules for courses and courses (Rule No. 64 of 2007) and the rules for courses and courses associated with the University Consortium Kanmon Credit Compatibility Agreement (Rule No. 30 of 2009)
- Courses that have earned credits based on the outline of taking graduate courses for undergraduate students of Shimonoseki City University (established on March 31, 2021)
Number of credits required for graduate school Graduate School of Economics
Students will acquire at least 30 credits, including 8 credits conducted by the research supervisor, receive the necessary research guidance, and pass the examination and examination of the master's thesis conducted by the graduate school.
Criteria for evaluation
We will comprehensively evaluate the understanding of academic literature, the ability to present at seminars, and the active participation in discussions. The evaluation is expressed in four types: excellent (80 points or more), good (70 points or more), acceptable (60 points or more), and impossible (less than 60 points), and excellent, good, and acceptable are passed, and non-fail is rejected.
Graduate degree award standard
Graduate School of Economics will confer a "master's (economics)" degree to students who meet the following requirements:
- Those who have been enrolled for a prescribed period of time and have acquired the prescribed credits required for completion
- Those who have received the necessary research guidance and have passed the examination and examination of the master's thesis
- A person who has acquired basic knowledge of economics and business administration as well as research skills and advanced specialized knowledge in the field.
Evaluation criteria for Master's thesis
- Whether the theme setting of the paper is clear and appropriate
- Whether the composition and logical development of papers are consistent
- Whether prior research and related research are properly taken into account.
- Whether the notes, materials, quotations, etc. are properly displayed and the format of the paper is in place.
- Whether certain knowledge corresponding to the research agenda has been presented
- Whether the response in the final test is accurate
