Current research theme

I have been conducting research that leads to bridging research and personalized therapies, focusing on statistical and data science methods, especially those applied to gastrointestinal cancer research and clinical trials. Taking advantage of our experience and networks of joint research with medical, research institutes, IT/pharmaceutical companies, etc., we are promoting research toward the culture of theory.
He also participates in the Life Intelligence Consortium (LINC)* and conducts research activities by industry, academia and government as representatives and co-owners of joint research such as "building a digital health data infrastructure nationwide", "individualization of medication/nutrition guidance", "cost-effectiveness analysis of treatment using natural language processing", and "efficiency of clinical trials".
*Consortium of All Japan, which was established in November 2016 mainly by Kyoto University, RIKEN, and the Institute for Pharmaceutical Infrastructure, Health and Nutrition, for the purpose of developing AI and big data in the life sciences fields related to pharmaceutical, chemical, food, medicine, and healthcare.

Class seminar

My seminar

Understanding phenomena, problem solving, and creating value through the approach of data science (data science)

・We value our colleagues in the laboratory.
・You can clearly explain your research topic and research plan in your own words.
・You can take the initiative in research.
・Understand and evaluate others' research.
・Develop the ability to explain in an easy-to-understand manner to non-specialists in the field.
・To acquire the ability from finding and solving problems from the perspective of data science.
While valuing the importance of empirical graduation research on understanding phenomena, problem solving, and value creation through data design (planning), collecting, and analyzing data using data science (data science) approach.
"Development of human resources who can think about research from the viewpoint of statistical and data science", "Basic research on statistics and data science methods", and "Applied research that can be utilized in the natural and humanities and social sciences" as major pillars.
