At Shimonoseki City University, foreign language courses have been offered frequently to the general public. However, there are questions about the timing and level of the course, whether the content of the education really meets the needs of the students, and whether the course has achieved learning outcomes.

Then, a questionnaire targeting citizens foreign language learners with the aim of grasping the situation and trends regarding foreign language learning (English, Chinese, and Korean) of the general public, and clarifying problems. Created and implemented. This report pointed out the characteristics of foreign language learners (English, Chinese, and Korean) in the Shimonoseki area based on the results of this questionnaire survey.
