#Hygiene CommitteeBeware of food poisoning
Summer is a season when there are more fun opportunities such as barbecue outdoors, while the temperature rises, bacteria that cause food poisoning such as enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli tend to multiply. Let's prevent outbreak of food poisoning by carrying out the following food poisoning prevention points with emphasis.
How to prevent food poisoning! ~ 6 points
- When shopping
・Check the display of the expiration date etc. carefully and purchase fresh ones.
・Separate and wrap them in plastic bags so that meat and fish do not leak.
・Buy foods that need refrigeration or freezing at the end of shopping and take them home as soon as you buy them.
- When saving
・Foods that need to be refrigerated or frozen should be placed in the refrigerator or freezer immediately.
・Be careful not to pack too much refrigerators or freezers.
・Put it in a separate container for each food so that gravy does not stick to other foods.
- When preparing for cooking
・Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before and after handling meat, fish, eggs, etc.
・Wash kitchen knives, cutting boards, towels, scrubbers, etc. well and disinfect them with boiling water or chemicals.
・Do not cut raw meat or fish-cut kitchen knives or cutting boards that are eaten raw, such as vegetables.
・To thaw food, use the refrigerator or microwave instead of room temperature.
・Frozen foods should be thawed as much as used for cooking, and not repeated freezing and thawing.
- At the time of cooking
・Heat foods such as fish, meat, and eggs that are heated and cooked thoroughly. As a guide, the temperature in the center is 75 degrees.
More than 1 minute.
・If you stop cooking for a long time, put it in the refrigerator.
- At the time of meal
・Wash your hands before you get to the table.
・Do not leave cooked foods at room temperature for a long time, but eat them as soon as possible.
(O157 doubles at room temperature in 15 to 20 minutes.)
- When the food remains
・Let's divide it into shallow containers so that it cools quickly in the refrigerator.
・Let's throw away things that take time or things that are a little dangerous.
Is it food poisoning? If you think
If you experience any symptoms that seem to be food poisoning, such as vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea, consult your doctor immediately. If you have abdominal pain or diarrhea, take a commercially available antidiarrhoea drug or take a cold medicine after judging that you have a cold may have the opposite effect. Let's ask. As an emergency measure, hydrate enough water. It is better to drink lukewarm water than cold water that stimulates the intestines.
