#HygienePrevention of influenza
Influenza is characterized by strong general symptoms such as sudden high fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain, and other symptoms such as sore throat, nasal discharge, and cough. It is also characterized by bronchitis, pneumonia, etc., and it can be severe.
Influenza varies depending on the year, but usually starts from November to December and the number of patients increases between January and March of the following year. Let's prevent infection by focusing on the following points.
Preventing the flu
- Get vaccinated before the flu season.
- Be sure to gargle and wash your hands when you return from the go or before eating.
- Eat well-balanced meals, rest well, and avoid fatigue.
- Keep the indoor humidity at 50-60%.
- Avoid crowds and going out to downtown areas, and wear a mask when you go out.
※Gargle and hand washing are effective not only for influenza.
※The disinfectant is sterilized when vaporizing, so please rub it into your hand firmly and dry it naturally. (If you wipe your hand with a handkerchief or towel, you will not be able to get enough effect.)
※The disinfectant solution is installed in each building in the university, so please use it.
If you get the flu
- Provide enough water (tea, juice, soup, etc.)
- Stay calm and get enough rest. Go to a medical institution as soon as possible to receive treatment and take a break from school and workplace.
- Wear a mask and refrain from going out to avoid passing on to people around you.
- Use the medicine properly according to the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. If you use the medicine and feel something abnormal, consult your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible.
Cough etiquette
- When coughing or sneezing, hold your mouth and nose with a handkerchief, tissue, etc., and turn your face away from others for at least 1m.
- If you have a cough, wear a mask so that you do not pass on to others. Also, encourage people who are coughing to wear a mask.
Others
- If cold-like symptoms (such as coughing, sore throat, etc.) persist for a long time, consult a medical institution as soon as possible.
- If you are a student diagnosed with influenza, be sure to contact the Student Affairs Group by phone.
