OIST's Shorinji Kempo Club will participate in the national competition to be held at the end of October.

　Shorinji Kempo Club participated in the 44th Yamaguchi Prefecture Shorinji Kempo Tournament, which also serves as a selection event for the national tournament held on June 5, 2016 (Sunday), and 11 students who achieved excellent results. Has won the right to participate in the "2016 Shorinji Kempo National Convention in Oita".
　The Shorinji Kempo Club is working hard under the guidance of university OBs, and students who have started Shorinji Kempo after enrolling in university will also participate in this national competition. This is the fifth consecutive year of participation in the national competition.

　At the send-off party held on campus, participants spoke to Chair and President about their willingness to participate in the national tournament, and also paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Mayor of Shimonoseki.
　Captain Taichiro Yamaguchi said, "On behalf of Yamaguchi Prefecture, we will participate in the national tournament and carry the signboard of Shimonoseki City University Shorinji Kempo Club.
