[Japan Student Services Organization] Emergency response to students affected by COVID-19 infection

We will inform you of the following topics.
Students who meet the following requirements and wish to use the system should consult with Student Support Division in advance and complete the procedure by the deadline.

※We will confirm that the requirements of the system are met, so please contact Student Support Division as soon as possible.

1.Emergency Special Interest-Free Loan Scholarships 

◆Requirements of the Target (persons who meet all of the following 1 to 5)

  1. Complying with the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (person, academic ability, household budget)
  2. At the time of recruitment, you have not received a Type 2 scholarship (Not applicable to those who are candidates for the 2022 Class 2 scholarship reservation recruitment and who plan to be hired by submitting a notification of advancement)
  3. Have not received a large amount of remittance from the home (the amount of remittance is not more than 1.5 million yen per year)
  4. High proportion of part-time income to living expenses and school expenses
  5. Significant decrease in part-time income of students due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection

    (In fiscal 2022, part-time income decreased by more than 50% due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection, etc., due to the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent spread. You can no longer earn the expected income without applying to the planned part-time job.

◆Loan start: Select the desired month (after April 2022) after the month when part-time job income decreased significantly due to the application of "declaration of a state of emergency" or "priority measures such as spread prevention"

◆End of loan: Until March 2023 (It will be loaned only in FY2022)

◆Documents to be submitted: Application documents will be given to Student Support Division. If you wish, please contact us as soon as possible.

◆Final submission deadline (accepted at any time): Tuesday, January 10, 2023 17:00 

2.Recruitment of Type 2 scholarships for those who are enrolled beyond the expected graduation period

◆Requirements of the Target (persons who meet all of the following 1 to 4)

  1. Those who meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarship (person, academic ability, household budget)
  2. Those who have not received a Type 2 scholarship at the time of recruitment
  3. Those who are forced to attend school beyond the term of study due to the cancellation of employment or the lack of employment due to the influence of COVID-19 infection (for reasons other than the influence of COVID-19 infection, those who are enrolled beyond the expected graduation period are not eligible.
  4. A person whose principal recognizes the necessity of extending the enrollment period beyond the expected graduation period and lending scholarships

◆Loan start: Select the desired month from April 2022 to September 2022

◆End of loan: As a general rule, the expected graduation period (up to one year)

◆Documents to be submitted: Application documents will be given to Student Support Division. If you wish, please contact us as soon as possible.

◆Deadline for submission: 17:00 on May 9, 2022 (Monday)

3.Recruitment of Type 2 Scholarships for Leavers

◆Requirements of the Target (persons who meet all of the following 1 to 4)

  1. Those who meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (persons, academic ability, household finances) (Those who have received a Class 1 scholarship must meet the criteria for combined lending)
  2. Those who have not received a Type 2 scholarship at the time of recruitment
  3. Those who are taking advantage of the influence of COVID-19 infection and are planning to take part in activities such as taking part in volunteer activities during FY2022.
  4. Those who recognize that the activities during the leave period are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities", "providing the major field", and "helping the formation of their own human beings", and the necessity of lending scholarships by the principal.

◆Loan start: Date of commencement of activities during the period of absence from school (April 2022 to September 2022)

◆End of loan: As a general rule, the expected graduation period (the loan period during the leave period is up to one year)

◆Documents to be submitted: Application for recruitment of scholarships during school holidays (application documents are distributed in Student Support Division)

◆Deadline for submission: 17:00 on May 9, 2022 (Monday)

4.Continuous loan of second-class scholarships for students who are absent from school (support after recruitment)

◆Requirements of the Target (persons who meet all of the following 1 to 3)

  1. Those who have received a second-class scholarship loan in FY2022
  2. Based on the impact of the expansion of COVID-19 infection, those who take part in activities such as taking a break from school in FY2022 and participating in volunteer activities.
  3. (2) The principal recognizes that activities during the absence of school are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities", "providing the major field", and "helping the formation of one's own human beings", and the necessity of lending scholarships.

◆Loan period: Up to one year from the date of resumption of the activity (limited to those from April to September of Reiwa 4 during the suspension period)

◆Documents to be submitted: "Request for continuing scholarships when leaving school" (Form distributed in Student Support Division)

◆Deadline for submission: Thursday, June 30, 2022 17:00

5.Early grant of loan scholarships (for those who have already been hired)

◆Target: Students who have already received first-class scholarships and second-class scholarships (all academic year and all academic year) and need a large amount of money
    ※The transfer will be made in July to September, so the next transfer will be in October.

◆Documents to be submitted: "Application for Early Grant" (Form distributed in Student Support Division)

◆Deadline for submission: Monday, May 23, 2022 17:00
