[Japan Student Services Organization] Emergency response to students affected by the COVID-19 infection

I would like to inform you of the title as follows:
Students who meet the following requirements and wish to use the system should consult with Student Support Division in advance and complete procedures by the deadline.

※Please contact Student Support Division as soon as possible to confirm that the requirements for the system are met.

1.Recruitment of emergency special interest-free loan type scholarship 

◆Those who meet all of the following 1 to 5)

  1. Meet the criteria for class 2 scholarships (person, academic ability, household budget)
  2. Those who have not received a Class 2 Scholarship at the time of recruitment (those who are scheduled to be hired by submitting a registration application are not eligible.)
  3. Have not received a large amount of remittances from the household (remittance amount must not be 1.5 million yen or more per year)
  4. High percentage of part-time job income to living expenses and tuition
  5. Significant decrease in part-time job income of students due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection

    (In fiscal 2022, part-time job income decreased by more than 50% due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection due to the expansion of the declaration of a state of emergency and priority measures to prevent spread, etc. The expected income could not be earned because of the planned part-time job.

◆Start of lending: Select the desired month (after April 2022) after the month in which part-time job income decreased significantly due to the application of "declaration of a state of emergency" or "priority measures to prevent spread."

◆Loan term: Until March 2023 (financing is limited to fiscal 2022 only)

◆Documents to be submitted: The application documents will be handed over to Student Support Division. If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible.

◆Final submission deadline (accepted from time to time): January 10, 2023 (Tuesday) 17:00 

2.Recruitment of Class 2 scholarships for those who have been enrolled beyond the scheduled graduation period

◆Those who meet all of the following 1 to 4)

  1. Those who meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (persons, academic ability, household finances)
  2. Those who have not received a Class 2 Scholarship at the time of recruitment
  3. Those who have been forced to attend school beyond the term of study due to reasons other than the influence of COVID-19 infection, who have been forced to attend school beyond the term of study due to reasons other than the influence of COVID-19 infection.
  4. Those who have recognized the need to extend their enrollment period beyond the expected graduation period and lend scholarships

3.Recruitment of Class 2 Scholarships for Leave of absence

◆Those who meet all of the following 1 to 4)

  1. Those who meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (persons, academic ability, household finances) (those who have received a first-class scholarship loan must meet the criteria for combined loan)
  2. Those who have not received a Class 2 Scholarship at the time of recruitment
  3. Those who take leave of absence from school during FY2022 to participate in volunteer activities (double learning) due to the influence of COVID-19 infection
  4. Those who recognize that the school principal recognizes that the activities during the leave of absence are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities," "positive to major field," and "help for the formation of one's own human beings," and the school principal recognizes the need for scholarship loans.

◆Start of lending: Date of commencement of activities during the leave period (April 2022 to September 2022)

◆Loan term: In principle, the expected graduation period (the loan period during the leave period is up to one year)

◆Documents to be submitted: Application documents are distributed at Student Support Division

◆Submission deadline: May 9, 2022 17:00 (Monday)

4.Continued loan of Class II scholarships for students taking leave of absence (support after recruitment)

◆Requirements of the Target (those who meet all of the following 1-3)

  1. Those who have received a Class 2 Scholarship Loan in FY2022
  2. Those who take leave of absence from school during FY2022 and participate in volunteer activities (double learning) due to the impact of the expansion of COVID-19 infection
  3. Those who recognize that the school principal recognizes that the activities during the leave of absence are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities," "positive in the field of major," and "helpful for the formation of one's own human beings," and that the school principal recognizes the need for scholarship loans.

◆Loan period: A maximum of one year from the date on which the activity is resumed (limited to those from April to September, Reiwa 4)

◆Documents to be submitted: “Request for Continuing Scholarship” (the form is distributed in Student Support Division)

◆Submission deadline: June 30, 2022 17:00 (Thursday)

5.Loan scholarships will be issued early (for those who have already been hired)

◆Target: Students who have already accepted the first class and second-class scholarships (both all schools and all grades) and need a large amount of money
    ※The transfer for July to September will be made in July, so the next transfer will be October.
