To students and parents who were affected by Typhoon No.10

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the typhoon.

I wish you a quick recovery as soon as possible.

For students who have suddenly changed their households due to the disaster and wish to receive scholarships, we are accepting applications for scholarships [Sudden Household Change Recruitment], loan scholarships [Emergency Recruitment / Emergency Recruitment], and [JASSO Disaster Support Fund]. If you would like to apply, please contact us at the following address.


1. Area covered by the Disaster Relief Act related to the disaster associated with Typhoon No. 10 in 2024

 68 municipalities in 3 prefectures (Aichi, Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures) ※Date of application of the Disaster Relief Act August 27, August 28

 ※For details on the applicable areas, please refer to the Japan Student Services Organization website (areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act within one year).

 ※Students from households that have suffered equivalent disasters in the above-mentioned neighboring areas will also be handled according to the applicable area.


2. Benefit scholarship [Sudden change of household budget] (no return required) ※For undergraduate students.

 When the livelihood maintainer is affected by an earthquake, fire, storm or flood, etc., and falls under any of the following 1.

 ➀Applicable to any of A to C

  A One (or both) of the livelihood maintainers dies.

  B One (or both) of the livelihood maintainers is difficult to work for more than six months due to an accident or illness.

  C One (or both) of the livelihood maintainers is unemployed (only in the case of involuntary unemployment)

 ②Due to the disaster, one (or both) of the livelihood maintainers has lost their lives, missing, or difficulty working, resulting in a significant decrease in household income.


3. Loan scholarship [emergency recruitment / emergency recruitment] (return required) ※For undergraduate and graduate students.

 Students who wish to receive scholarships due to sudden changes in their household budget due to death, accident, illness, unemployment, etc. of their livelihood maintainers, or disasters such as earthquakes, fires, storms and floods.


4. JASSO Disaster Relief Fund ※For undergraduate and graduate students.

 Students who have suffered damage such as inundation above floor level, partially destroyed or more in their homes where they live, or their parents, or who have been evacuation advisory from local governments for more than a month.
