To the students and parents affected by Typhoon No. 10

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the typhoon.

I wish you a quick recovery as soon as possible.

For students who have suddenly changed their households due to the disaster and wish to receive scholarships, we are accepting applications for benefit scholarships [accidental household change recruitment], loan scholarships [emergency recruitment / emergency recruitment], and [JASSO disaster support money]. If you would like to apply, please contact us from the contact information below.


1. Areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act for Disasters associated with Typhoon No. 10 in 2024

 68 municipalities in three prefectures (Aichi Prefecture, Miyazaki Prefecture and Kagoshima Prefecture) ※Date of application of the Disaster Relief Act: August 27 and August 28

 ※For details on the applicable area, please refer to the Japan Student Services Organization website (area covered by the Disaster Relief Law within one year).

 ※Students of households who have suffered an equivalent disaster in the neighboring areas mentioned above will be handled according to the applicable area.


2. Scholarships【Non-return required】 ※For undergraduate students.

 If the livelihood maintainer is affected by an earthquake, fire, storm or flood damage, etc., it falls under any of the following ➀(8)

 ➀Applicable to any of A to C

  A One (or both) of the livelihood maintainers dies

  B It is difficult for one (or both) of the livelihood maintainer to work for more than six months due to an accident or illness.

  C One (or both) of the livelihood maintainers is unemployed (only in the case of involuntary unemployment)

 ②Due to the disaster, one (or both) of the livelihood maintainers has died unknown, missing, or difficulty working, caused a significant decrease in household income.


3. Loan Scholarship [Emergency Recruitment / Emergency Recruitment] (return required) ※For undergraduate and graduate students.

 Students who wish to receive scholarships due to sudden changes in their households due to death, accidents, illness, unemployment, etc. of livelihood maintainers, or disasters such as earthquakes, fires, storms and floods.


4. JASSO Disaster Relief Fund ※For undergraduate and graduate students.

 Students who have suffered damage such as inundation above floor level, partial destruction or more in the housing where students or their parents live, and students who have been evacuation advisory etc. from local governments for more than one month.
