On October 28, 2017, a symposium commemorating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Shimonoseki City University Whale Reference Room was held at the International Conference Hall on the 10th floor of the Strait Messe Shimonoseki.

The first part was entitled "Exploring the Use of Whale Oil and Future Potentials", and received a report from Mr. Mitsuhiro Kishimoto, a commissioned researcher at the Regional Co-creation Center, Shimonoseki City University. A symposium was held with Koji Yoshida and Mr. Yukihiro Iwata, a specialist researcher at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Industrial Technology Center.

In the second part, entitled "Shimonoseki's first challenge to Torafugu land cultivation", and after receiving a report from Mr. Takashi Castle, Representative Director of EECL Co., Ltd., coordinator Hidetsugu Hamada, director of Shimonoseki City University Regional Co-creation Center Mr. Yoshifumi Takahashi, Associate Professor of Kyushu University Graduate School of Agricultural Research, and Mitsuru Sasaki of Minato Shimbun, Minato Shimbun, Minato Shimbun Co., Ltd.

Approximately 80 participants listened enthusiastically to the symposium, and it was a fruitful symposium.

The Whale Reference Room, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, will contribute to the community by further energizing research and research and enhancing the materials in the future. We look forward to your continued understanding and cooperation.
