We held a symposium commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Whale Library of Shimonoseki City University.

On October 28, 2017 (Saturday), a symposium commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Shimonoseki City University's Whaling Library was held at the International Conference Center on the 10th floor of the Strait Messe Shimonoseki.

In Part 1, a symposium was held with Mr. Mitsuhiro Kishimoto, a researcher commissioned by the Regional Co-creation Center attached to Shimonoseki City University under the title "Exploring the Use of whale oil and future possibilities", followed by Mr. Koji Yoshida, Director of Planning and Management, Yoshida Sogo Techno Co., Ltd., and Mr. Masahiro Iwata, a specialist researcher at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Industrial Technology Center.

In the second part, a symposium was held with Mr. Takashi Castle, CEO of EECL Co., Ltd., entitled "Shimonoseki's first trafug land cultivation challenge", followed by Mr. Hidetsugu Hamada, Director of the Regional Co-creation Center attached to Shimonoseki City University, an associate professor of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University Graduate School, and Mr. Mitsuru Sasaki, a member of Minatoyamaguchi Joint Shimbun's Minato Shimbun China Branch Office.

Approximately 80 participants listened enthusiastically, and it was a fruitful symposium.

The whale reference room, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, will contribute to the community by further promoting research and research in the future together with the Fuku reference room and enhancing the materials. We look forward to your continued understanding and cooperation.
