A regional survey was conducted in Special Seminar I (Yu Sato (Yu) Seminar)

Sixteen third-year students from Sato (Yu) seminar conducted a regional survey in Nagato City on November 21 (Wednesday). Sato (Yu) seminar conducts regional surveys as part of specialized exercise I. This year, we surveyed four themes for Nagato City: "fishery industry", "population (settlement, etc.)", "town development (citizen collaboration)" and "sightseeing".

First of all, we conducted an interview at Nagato City Hall. Until now, the students have been preparing for an overview of each theme from statistical data and various reports published by the city, extracting questions, etc., and preparing. On this day, we asked various questions to the person in charge of the city hall about questions.
After that, we moved to Senza Kitchen and had lunch. We enjoyed Nagato's taste such as seafood bowls and yakitori.

Finally, using the former Oumijima Elementary School, we toured the Republic of Oumijima, which is the base for town development, and talked to Tatsuo Hamano, a representative (it seems to be called the "king"). We are promoting the sixth industrialization to secure funding for activities (for example, renting abandoned cultivated land, cultivating mochi rice, making and selling kagami mochi), school excursions and hands-on tours (Kamaboko making and fish handling experience) It was found that various ideas were being made, such as conducting a handmade information magazine to make local people aware of the activities. The "Daidai Juice" I received was also very delicious.

I think that a part of the actual situation in the region could be seen by actually walking and seeing the site and listening to people involved in various local issues. Some of the groups were lost, but this kind of little happening (?) I think it's the real pleasure of fieldwork. Best of all, the students enjoyed working on it.

In the future, we plan to compile the survey results and work on presentation and survey reports. I would like you to carefully summarize the voices of the field and come up with ideas such as problem solving for students and revitalizing the community. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of report will be made.

Thank you to Nagato City Hall and Mr. Hamano of the Republic of Oumijima for your cooperation.
