The 4th Shimonoseki City University Inspection Evaluation Symposium was held.

 On February 14, 2019, the 4th Shimonoseki City University Inspection and Evaluation Symposium was held at Class I-206 of the University Main Building.
 What is a university while the situation surrounding the university is severe? What is the role of the university? In addition to providing an opportunity to inform both inside and outside the university about the third medium-term plan to start next year, Kitakyusyu City University's mid-term plan and self-inspection evaluation, which is implementing the third medium-term plan ahead of time, the event was held with the aim of creating opportunities to explore future university survival measures.

 Following the opening remarks by President Yoichi Kawanami, President Yoshihiro Ogino gave a keynote speech on the theme of "The Third Medium-Term Plan of Shimonoseki City University" and Yasushi Nakao (Deputy President and Evaluation Office, Kitakyusyu City University) on the theme of "The Third Medium-Term Plan of Kitakyusyu City University and Initiatives for Internal Quality Assurance".
 Next, “What is the university reform required of public universities?” -A symposium was held on the theme of how universities can survive through industry-government-academia collaboration and internal quality assurance. Prof. Yukihiro Mori (Vice Chairman of the Inspection and Evaluation Committee of Shimonoseki City University) was the coordinator, and as panelists Yasushi Nakao, Takuhiro Yamamoto (Department of Industrial Promotion, Shimonoseki City) and President Yoichi Kawanami took the stage and had lively discussions.
