Shimonoseki Whale Summer School was held.

This year, following last year, the Shimonoseki Whale Summer School for elementary school students in the city was held on Saturday, July 27 at the I-206 classroom of the main building of the university. First of all, Mr. So Ishikawa, director of the Shimonoseki Whale Research Laboratory, asked, "What kind of creature is whale?" I had a talk about it. Next, Mr. Mitsuhiro Kishimoto, a commissioned researcher at TUFS, spoke about the history of Shimonoseki and whales. Elementary school students raised their hands and expressed their opinions, and actively participated.

After the talk, they toured the library in Building II of the main building of the university, and then toured the model of the mother ship on the first floor of Library and Study Center Building and the skull of sardine whales. Elementary school students who participated learned a lot about "Whale". It was a sultry day with rain before the start, but thank you for visiting the university. I hope it will be helpful for free research.

The Shimonoseki City University Regional Co-creation Center plans to plan and implement various courses in the future. If you are interested, please join us.
