　Since January 2022, OIST has decided to certify naming rights for facilities owned by OIST in order to improve the educational and research environment, and is recruiting corporations that wish to do so as naming rights partners.
　Shimonoseki City University Alumni Association has applied for naming rights for active learning studios, and the agreement has been concluded on September 8, 2022.
　As a result, the name of Active Learning Studio will be "Minerva Studio" from October 4, 2022 to October 3, 2025.
　This is the second issue of the University's naming rights agreement.

　In his greeting, Shintaro Tominari, Chairman of Shimonoseki City University Alumni Association, said, "I hoped that Shimonoseki City University Alumni Association could help students, so I applied for naming rights this time. I would be very grateful if this naming rights agreement could be used to enhance the educational facilities for students. "

In response to the passion of 22,300 members of the Shimonoseki City University Alumni Association, I hope students will use Minerva Studio with attachment."

◆Meaning "Minerva"
　"Minerva" is a word used as the title of Shimonoseki City University alumni magazine, and is quoted from a passage in the preface to German philosopher Hegel's "Philosophy of Law", "Minerva's Owl takes off at twilight."
　Minerva is the Statue of wisdom and beauty, and the owl is the messenger of the goddess. The clever owl will fly away waiting for dusk. Why, for what, and where do you fly? The twilight is the entrance to the night. Wisdom is a means of living in a dark era and getting out of an uneasy situation.
