On the evening of June 14 (Wednesday), an open lecture on civic college, "The Town of Shimonoseki and Moji as seen on pre-war maps" was opened.
This year, face-to-face open lectures have been resumed for the first time in four years, and this is the first lecture in the form of lectures mainly for citizens this year.
While looking at many valuable materials and old maps, the 27 students traced the interesting process of transportation at the Kanmon Gate was realized in its current form through twists and turns.
At the venue, maps of pre-war Shimonoseki and Moji printed on large paper were also prepared for reference, and it was impressive that the students overlapped with the current cityscape and enjoyed talking about what they noticed.
