#GeneralWe conducted disaster drills.
On September 26, 2023 (Tuesday), a disaster drill was held for the first time in four years following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the guidance of Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Department members, about 120 people, including students, faculty and staff, and local residents, participated in disaster drills.
In the self-defense fire brigade activity training conducted assuming fire incident on the 4th floor of Building II, the initial firefighting team and the evacuation guidance team rushed to the alert detection site from the fire alarm to perform initial firefighting and evacuation guidance. In addition, the self-defense fire brigade, composed of TUFS staff, took charge of each task, including guiding students in the building in front of the main building I main building in evacuation site, transporting injured persons and providing emergency treatment.
After that, firefighters explained the use of indoor fire hydrants, and as outdoor activities, they conducted water discharge training using indoor fire hydrants and fire drills using water fire extinguishers.
As a comment from a member of the Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Department, although it was well done as a whole, it may not be possible to follow the training in an actual emergency, and when evacuating, put a handkerchief on your mouth and keep a low posture. There was guidance.
