Students belonging to the Shorinji Kempo Club of Tohoku University will participate in the national competition.

　Masaku Aota (2nd year in Department of International Commerce) of the Shorinji Kempo Club participated in the 51st Shorinji Kempo Tournament in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the 2023 Shorinji Kempo World Tournament in Tokyo, Japan Selection Meeting, which also served as the qualifier for the national tournament held on June 11 (Sun). Last year, the Shorinji Kempo Club achieved the best (1st place) in the 50th Yamaguchi Prefecture Shorinji Kempo Tournament in the 50th Yamaguchi Prefecture Shorinji Kempo Tournament.

　Chair handed out a list of the prize money for national competition from the university to Mr. Aoda.

　At the send-off party, Mr. Aoda strongly stated, "I want to win the qualifying and advance to the finals because I participate in the national tournament."

　I look forward to Mr. Aoda's success in the national convention.
