[Contents]

In this joint research project, through the disciplines of game theory (*1) and educational economics (*2), we have studied how game theory techniques are utilized in education situations where human behavior and constant decision-making are required.

In the study of education economics conducted in fiscal 2020, allocation rules were one of the main points.

We will further study this allocation rule and report the results of our research on allocation rule (*3) this year.

※1 Game theory is a discipline that expresses human behavior and decision-making in a formula and can be applied to a wide range of fields such as economics, sociology, and political science.

※2 Educational economics is an academic study that considers economics related to education, such as the economic effects and achievements of education.

※3 Allotment rules are rules given in the model that determine where to buy a consumer (such as a shop).

[History of the Open Seminar for Joint Research between Kyoto University and Shimonoseki City University]

Shimonoseki City University has Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Data Science, and graduate school Graduate School of Economics. In particular, Faculty of Economics has been promoting educational and research activities related to economics. In addition, a new field of education economics was established in Graduate School of Economics in fiscal 2021 to conduct education and research on educational economics.

This is the third joint research report with the Economic Research Institute of Kyoto University, which links game theory (economics) with educational economics from a new perspective. Last year, we reported on the approach to education economics using microeconomics. In this fiscal year, we will hold a joint research public seminar on the results of research focusing on the allocation rules. Please refer to the attached flyer for details of this seminar.
