[Content]

In this joint research project, through the disciplines of game theory (*1) and educational economics (*2), we have been studying how game theory methods can be utilized in educational situations where human behavior and constant decisions are required.

In the study of educational economics conducted in fiscal 2020, the allocation rules were one of the key points.

We will further study this allocation rule, and this year we will report the results of our research on allotment rules (* 3).

※1 Game theory is a study that can express human actions and decision-making in formulas and can be applied widely in economics, sociology, and politics.

※2 Educational economics is an academic study that considers what is related to education, such as the economic effects and outcomes of education.

※3 The allocation rule is a rule given in the model that determines the consumer's purchaser (shops, etc.).

[About the background of the release of the Joint Research Open Seminar between Kyoto University and Shimonoseki City University]

Shimonoseki City University has Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Data Science, and graduate school Graduate School of Economics. In particular, Faculty of Economics has been promoting educational and research activities related to economics. In addition, the Graduate School of Education and Economics has been newly established in Graduate School of Economics since fiscal 2021 to provide education and research on educational economics.

This is the third joint research report with the Economic Research Institute of Kyoto University from a new perspective that links game theory (economics) with educational economics. Last year, we reported on the approach to educational and economics using microeconomic techniques. In this fiscal year, we will hold a report on the results of research focusing on the "quota rules" as a joint research seminar. Please refer to the attached flyer for details of this seminar.
